Upper Loire- Sancerre/ Pouilly Fume “History resided here”, majestic castles, that pin us down with their luxury and magnificence. They were inhabited by kings and nobles of romantic France and were witnesses of murders, secret love affairs, intrigues and scheming.
Beautiful bucolic landscapes, dense forests full of wild boar and deer, fairytale villages with cute cottages, historic cities -each boasting its own small castle- traditional French cuisine, groomed vineyards of excellent wine, magnificent architectural monuments of the Renaissance period, royal splendor and memories...
That is where we are to travel ... and taste some of the most characteristic and great white wines of the world.
In the east of the valley and on both sides of the river, we find two of the most popular areas (Designation of Origin) of the world, Sancerre and Pouilly Fume, mainly producing the most dynamic Sauvignon Blanc globally. We combine it with pesto crostini, gruyere flakes and sea fennel, asparagus and chevre risotto (Crottin de Chavignol) and sautéed bass fish with caper leaves, olives and blites.
