Harris Lamprakis Quartet Live Linto is honored to host the famous band Harris Lmaprakis Quartet on Friday, 22 April 2016, at 22.00.
The Harris Lamprakis Quartet was formed in 2006 by Sidirokastritis Nikos (drums), Dimitris Theocharis (piano), Alekos Paraskevopoulos (bass) and Harris Lamprakis (ney). Along the way, Alekos Paraskevopoulos was replaced by Lydios Damis in contrabass. In 2007 the band recorded its first CD entitled Thea (View).
After Lydios Damis moves to England, Chrysostomos Boukalis joins the band, and then Dimitris Tsekouras becomes a permanent member of the band. In 2011 they record their second CD entitled Meteora. In this CD, three close friends of the band take part - Costas Tatsakis (drums), Andrea Romani (flute) and Nicolas Skordas (soprano saxophone).
Having appeared in remarkable musical stages and having participated in numerous festivals, the band is coming onto Linto Stage to present us with its music. Some of their sound characteristics are modal jazz, traditional Greek music but also the tropical music of the Eastern Mediterranean, jazz harmonies from the 60s, and improvised music.
The Harris Lamprakis Quartet continues to this day playing and collecting material for its next music steps and promises new musical experiences.
