The Next Step Quartet live

The dynamic Next Step jazz quartet will be appearing for the second year on Linto Stage on Friday December 2, 2016 at 21:30.
Next Step is a jazz band formed in 2011 as a result of the mutual studies of its members- Thodoris Kotsifas (guitar), Vasilis Podaras (drums), Yiannis Papadopoulos (piano), and Ntinos Manos (contrabass) of the Ionian University. Upon meeting the Greek-Swedish saxophonist Orpheus Tsoukalas the band’s line-up was completed as a quintet and after a year of cooperation the homonymous debut album was released. As Orpheus Tsoukalas participated in only this album, Next Step went on with various other co operations. The band’s second album entitled "2" has been recorded with Takis Paterelis and Tivon Pennicott from New York and was released in November 2015. At the moment, they are working on their Radiohead project (jazz covers by selected Radiohead pieces) which will be presented on Linto Stage but also throughout their tour.
Next Step members, maintaining the young vibe that characterizes their age, but clearly more experienced now, take... “the next step” of their professional career. With two albums under their belt, an award in the international competition "Made in New York Jazz Competition" and several appearances at festivals both in Greece and abroad, they continue with great confidence and efficiency to explore new sound paths.
With a fresh sound and passion for music they are considered the “hottest jazz band" of the ever-growing Greek jazz scene. Their music clearly reflects a full range of their references/ influences and attracts audiences of different ages and various musical "tribes". The result is provocative, explosive!
