Silent cinema and music

In an event combining silent film and contemporary music, three documentaries featuring a unique perspective of New York in the 1920s will be screened at the Hellenic American Union auditorium on November 9, 2015, accompanied by music written by Andreas Zafeiropoulous. The films include A Bronx Morning (1931) by Jay Leyda, Manhatta - New York the Magnificent (1921) by Charles Sheeler and Paul Strand, and Twenty Four Dollar Island (1927) by Robert Flaherty. Christos Mitsakis will offer introductory remarks.
 
The event is being presented by the Bachelor of Music program of the Hellenic American College (HAEC) in cooperation with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) and the Greek Composers' Union.
