Magic Carpet Ride

icon
Seventeen sculptors from San Francisco and twelve sculptors from Athens engage into conversation through their works., the latter operating as a language that reveals a common ground and common codes.

Kati Casida, artist and curator of the group of San Francisco, states that: “The exhibition may give some clues as to what is of concern to all of us as artists in a world that reflects turmoil rather than stability...Thanks to the rich Greek tradition of ancient art and architecture, we felt that a group exhibition with Athenian sculptors would contribute to an international cooperation and understanding, in order to expand our horizons and our appreciation of a great culture on the other side of the world”.

Athenian Sculptors:
Michael Arfaras, Kostis Velonis, Vaso Gkavaise, Cornelius Grammenos, George Gyparakis, Georgia Damopoulou, Manolis Zacharioudakis, Dora Kourtesa, Emilia Bantouna, Nikos Papadimitriou, Elias Sipsas, Costas Christopoulos.
